Handcrafted Boots by Cock of the Walk Designs

Art to Wear by Carrie Cameron

Artist Carrie Cameron emailed me out of the blue last year to introduce me to her new line of hand made, hand tooled, and hand painted boots. I had never seen anything like them before. Her "Cock of the Walk Designs" boots were colorful, exotic, and bold. They were a truly unique expression of Carrie's artistic vision and her new life in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

As an artist in the Dallas, Texas area since 2001, Carrie Cameron has produced sought after works of art that can be found in homes and offices throughout Texas and beyond. Her paintings are also on exhibit at Casa Canal in Centro, and Casa Diana, both in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, ad well as Orisons Fine Art Gallery in historic downtown McKinney, Texas.

Carrie's recent move to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico was incredibly inspiring for her, and gave her the confidence to take her artistry to the next level. Since Leon is the leather tanning capitol of Mexico, leather designs seem to be a natural next step. Her new venture, called Cock of the Walk Designs, is a line of custom boots, shoes, and leather accessories. Their custom creations are carefully constructed with the finest leathers and materials. The majority of their leather products are hand tooled and/or hand painted - no two are exactly alike.

Carrie Cameron has chosen the most talented artisans to work for Cock of the Walk Designs - people who share her dedication and take pride in their work. The designs are inspired by the beauty of the environment in which they live, combining a bit of history, culture, and spirit into each and every hand crafted product. The "Cock of the Walk Boots" (left, $1495) are the signature boots for the line. The peacock design was inspired by one of Carrie's favorite paintings, and the artwork is spectacular on a pair of boots! The "Viva La Mexico Boots" (center, $1595) are a new design featuring the Mexican emblem and the agave plant on the heel and upper foot. This particular pair of boots was made for a man, but the design can be made for both men and women (in fact all of their designs can be made for men or women). The "Cocky 13 Boots" (right, $1495) were also inspired by one of Carrie's paintings. They were originally designed for a man but have been sold to many women as well. Customers can select their boot design from existing Cock of the Walk designs, or use one of Carrie Cameron's paintings for inspiration. Carrie can also create a new design made especially for you!

Cock of the Walk Designs boots are becoming very popular, and are now available at Pinto Ranch in Dallas, Orison's Boutique in McKinney, Texas, Chateau Rustic in Frisco, TX (in April), Space Cowboy in New York, and Cowgirl Kim (online retailer). You can also see and purchase these distinctive hand made boots (and handbags and belts) on the Cock of the Walk Designs website.
